Constitution and Bylaws

The National Constitution is the governing document that outlines all procedures and inner-workings of the Fraternity and its subordinate chapters. Last updated and ratified in 2006 at the Phi Kappa Tau Centennial Convention, the latest edition provides a modern outline for the way the Fraternity conducts business.

In addition to the National Constitution, each chapter has a set of chapter bylaws, which are articles pertaining to the inner-workings of the chapter. While the National Constitution supersedes each set of chapter bylaws, chapters are afforded some variation in the way they conduct business on the individual chapter level. To ensure compliance with the National Constitution, each chapter must revise and resubmit its bylaws to the Phi Kappa Tau Executive Offices for approval every four years.
