Oct. 15, 2009: Ithaca, N.Y.—Alpha Tau chapter at Cornell recently held its 9th annual Phi Tug—a tug-of-war philanthropy event that benefits the Hole in the Wall Camps. The event raised more than $700 for the Fraternity’s national philanthropy.
The chapter has hosted the event since it was re-colonized in 2001. Phi Tug is popular among all students on campus, not just greeks. This year, a DJ entertained participants throughout the day and an alumnus donated food for the event.
Philanthropy Chairman Nathaniel Houghton, Alpha Tau ’08, is proud of the chapter’s success.
“While it is difficult to raise money in this economy,” he said, “we are pleased with Phi Tug’s success this year and look forward to more successful events in the future.”
