June 21, 2010: Oxford, Ohio—Chief Learning Officer Tom Jeswald, Ohio ’63, announces Tidewater Domain Director Don Stansberry, Ohio ’87, as the next Leadership Academy dean. Stansberry will serve as the assistant dean until the completion of Leadership Academy 2011, when Wes Fugate, Centre ’99, officially steps down from the volunteer role.

Stansberry earned a Bachelor of Science in communication and a Master of Education from Ohio University. Originally from Chillicothe, Ohio, he now resides in Norfolk, Va., where he works as the associate dean of students at Old Dominion University, home of the Fraternity’s Gamma Tau chapter.

In addition to his current post as a Domain Director, which he will finish before becoming dean, Stansberry also serves on both the Phi Kappa Tau Awards Committee and Education Committee. He was a 2005 Stennis Award recipient for outstanding service as a Domain Director. Outside of Phi Tau, Stansberry is a member of College Student Educators International (ACPA), Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education (NASPA) and the National Association for Campus Activities (NACA).

As Leadership Academy dean, Stansberry will oversee the entire program, which will become an annual event this summer.
