Phi Kappa Tau hosted the first SeriousFun-A-Thon during Conclave this year. Staff worked with chapters across the country, local businesses & undergraduate participants to make the event a resounding success. Many other things went into making this event possible but it was in large part due to all the hard work from our volunteer undergrads attending Conclave and the support from local businesses in Oxford, Ohio.

We worked with 51 businesses in the Oxford community. Collected checks & raffle items that were given away at the Fun-a-thon. In total, around 200 community members attended the event at the local park in town. We had activities similar to a field day including, but not limited to, life-sized Hungry Hungry Hippos, homerun derby, caricatures & more!

We raised $8,021.25 from the fun-a-thon event when our goal was $2,500. This final number includes what was raised on Crowdrise, at fun-a-thon & what we’ve collected from businesses as of 8/1/17. Ultimately, we will be able to send three children to a SeriousFun camp next summer because of these efforts – a huge success.
