August 8, 2016: Oxford, Ohio—Phi Kappa Tau is proud to announce a new strategic partnership with EverFi, Inc. to offer evidence-based alcohol education through GreekLifeEdu. This online program leverages trends and incorporating multiple evidence-based learning theories to achieve behavior change objectives and helps members practice safer decision-making.

The implementation of GreekLifeEdu is the first of many initiatives aimed to shift the paradigm from “risk management” to “prevention and wellness” for Phi Kappa Tau. The shift in philosophy, including this new partnership, is facilitated by Phi Kappa Tau 2020, the Fraternity’s strategic plan ratified at the 62nd National Convention in Sacramento, Calif.

“I am very proud of our organization for making this important values based decision,” said Chief Operating Officer Travis Robinson, Eastern Kentucky ’98. “We believe strongly in the value that a positive fraternity experience has on a young man’s growth and development. Phi Kappa Tau members need to be educated, aware and empowered. Our partnership with EverFi will help us accomplish all three.”

GreekLifeEdu addresses the critical issues of alcohol awareness, sexual assault and hazing for fraternity and sorority members through a unique, confidential and personal experience. The modules within the program allow for personalized feedback, interactive sections, and resources by learning different ways to apply the skills and knowledge gained through the process. The objectives of this program include:

  • Members will be better equipped to proactively identify and respond to many of the difficult choices all college students face.
  • Volunteers, advisors and staff will participate as coalition members with access to evidence-based advisory services.
  • Data collected will better inform strategies and enable targeted and customized solutions.

Phi Kappa Tau stands committed to providing members a fun, positive and safe Fraternity experience. Through the Fraternity’s partnership with EverFi, a focus is placed on prevention and wellness which further enhances the plethora of existing educational opportunities. Shifting to a proactive culture within Phi Kappa Tau further empowers members to be good and loyal citizens.
