Phi Kappa Tau National Program Travel Tips

Here are some tips and tricks to utilize when traveling to Phi Kappa Tau National Programs.

Check the Airlines luggage requirements

Visit your airline’s website to review luggage size and weight restrictions, as well as baggage fees, before your flight. It is easy to overpack when bringing professional attire. Many airlines offer complimentary carry-on bags, but that is not always the case.

Arrive at the airport early

It is important to give yourself ample time to get through luggage check-in and TSA. Arriving early will help relieve some of that travel stress. If you arrive too late, some airlines will not allow you to check your luggage.

If you are unfamiliar with the airport, navigation may take some extra time so arriving even earlier than you normally would is also recommended to give yourself extra time to find your gate.

Get rest

Make sure you get a good night's sleep at least two days prior to traveling. Flying puts a great deal of stress on your body and you want to ensure you are energized and ready.

Check-in for flight

Make sure you check in for your flight as soon as possible. You want to avoid any potential hiccups that might arise from checking in too late. Set a timer for 24 hours before your flight which is typically the window in which you can check in.

Prepare the night before

Before bed, make sure you have all your essentials in your carry-on and luggage. It is best to make a list and check-off the night before to ensure you aren't missing anything.
